At Chuo International School, we welcome both resident and non-resident families to apply for admission. Our admissions process is designed to ensure a seamless experience, accommodating the unique needs of families living abroad while maintaining transparency and clear expectations.
Admissions Process for Resident and Non-Resident Applicants
STEP 1
Information Sharing
Explore Chuo International School’s programs, facilities, and values to determine if CIS is the right fit for your child. Our admissions team is available to answer any questions and provide guidance throughout the process.
STEP 2
Application Submission
Submit your completed application form and pay the application fee. Non-resident applicants may submit their applications digitally and should ensure all required documents are included.
STEP 3
Entrance Examination
-
Resident Applicants: Attend the entrance examination at CIS.
-
Non-Resident Applicants: Admissions decisions may be based on a review of submitted documents and a online interview if attending the examination in person is not feasible.
STEP 4
Admission Results
Admission results will be announced and the families of accepted students will receive a formal offer along with details of the next steps.
Note: Admission decisions are based on age requirements, placement test results, previous academic experience, the admissions interview, and English language ability.
STEP 5
Fees Payment
To confirm enrollment, accepted families must pay the entrance fees and tuition fees in full. Non-resident families awaiting a valid resident visa must complete this step to secure a place.
STEP 6
Enrollment Dates
September admission is available for children proficient in English speaking and writing, ready to fully engage in our curriculum.
Note: Based on the results of the proficiency exam, we may require an alternative start date to ensure better preparation for the upcoming term.
For Non-Resident Applicants
A valid resident visa is required for non-Japanese citizens to finalize enrollment. Families awaiting visas can proceed through the admissions process and secure a spot, provided the visa is obtained before the school year begins.
