Sports Day 2025: Learning Through Teamwork and Active Play

At Chuo International School (CIS), Sports Day is more than just a day of friendly competition—it's an opportunity for students to build confidence, strengthen friendships, and develop teamwork through active learning. This year's event was especially meaningful as we welcomed families from Sunshine Kids Academy (SKA), bringing our school communities together for a memorable day of fun and connection.

On May 9th, students, parents, teachers, and staff from our Tokyo and Shin-Urayasu campuses gathered at Ariake Sports Center for Sports Day 2025. Held indoors, the event was filled with laughter, encouragement, and exciting challenges that created lasting memories for everyone involved.

Growing Through Movement and Collaboration

At CIS, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Sports Day encourages children to develop resilience, cooperation, communication, and sportsmanship while enjoying physical activity in a supportive environment.

Throughout the event, students challenged themselves, celebrated one another's achievements, and worked together as teams. Sharing the day with our friends from Sunshine Kids Academy also gave children the opportunity to build new friendships and experience the strength of our wider school community.

Highlights from an Exciting Day

The morning began with students proudly gathering in their team colours—Blue, Red, Yellow, and Green—before kicking off the event with energetic team chants that filled the sports hall with excitement.

Throughout the day, students and families enjoyed a variety of activities designed to encourage teamwork, coordination, and plenty of smiles, including:

• Warm-Up & Dance

• Ball Bonanza

• Relay Race

• Little Ninja Course

• Sack Race

• Balloon Relay

• Water Break

• Parents vs. Teachers Tug of War

One of the biggest highlights of the day was the Parents vs. Teachers Tug of War, where enthusiastic cheering from students created an unforgettable atmosphere of school spirit.

The event concluded with an awards ceremony celebrating not only winning teams but also participation, perseverance, and teamwork, followed by a group photo to capture the memories of a wonderful day together.

Strengthening Our School Community

Sports Day 2025 reminded us that some of the most valuable learning happens through shared experiences. Whether competing in races, cheering on teammates, or enjoying activities with family and friends, every student contributed to the positive energy that made the day so special.

We were delighted to celebrate alongside the Sunshine Kids Academy community, reinforcing the close connection between our schools while creating meaningful experiences for children and their families.
